our company history

Early in their twenties, Geralde O Tio and Davidson Y. Chiong put together a few million pesos and initially capitalized Route 88 Boys Inc. Route 88 started with three (3) car washers, one (1) mechanic, and three (3) office staff.

In 2012, Route 88 experienced the first ray of business expansions through the acquisition of equipment and an increase in the number of employees. A year later, Route 88 started the distribution and consequently acquired ownership of PALMAE MANUFACTURING with a car shampoo as the initial product line.

March 8, 2015, marked a tangible proof of business success with the birth of a new Route 88 Branch (1). Two years later, Route 88 penetrated Zamboanga Peninsula, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao markets with RAIMOL Engine Oil. Consequently, with stronger business strategies and increasing momentum on market presence, JP Battery distribution came about in 2008.

In 2019, another Route 88 branch (2) was born. In the same speed, ARRIVO Tires started distribution in Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga Sibugay.

With its established brand in car care, a stronger trade name, and more stable business system, Route 88 became determined to distribute products and services with a royalty. At the point of time when the world paused, and the businesses detoured from the threat of the COVID19 pandemic, Route 88 bravely embarked on a more ambitious business expansion. Route 88 opened for a franchise with Route 88 Aloran as the first franchised company. By the end of 2020, Route 88 was already counting additional franchise companies accross Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte.

Today, Route 88 manages a human resource of twelve (12) car washers, ten (10) mechanics, three (3) electricians, five (5) motor pool crew, a team of sales specialists, twelve (12) admin and operations personnel in three (3) company-owned branches. A franchise team was also formed to administer the franchise transactions.

With the company vision as the leading trusted car care authority in the region, Route 88 lives on with a mission to strengthen the brand with a robust workforce in a culture of quality performance and excellent service.
